I am a hyphenated artist...

Writer-Director-Actor-Musician-Educator

I was never really good at being just one thing.  I love the ability and freedom to jump from one discipline to the next.  As an actor I was fortunate enough to share the stage with the likes of Betty Buckley, Rip Torn, John Mellencamp...to work alongside Horton Foote...to play in front of over 1.5 million people live with the Boston Pops on the 4th of July...to sing at Carnegie Hall...and to perform over 1000 shows as a Blue Man in the world famous Blue Man Group show.  This only made me hunger for more.  I next enrolled in the Lesley University MFA program in Creative Writing--Writing for Stage and Screen.  It is here that I found my voice as a writer and the craft to let it be heard.

Currently I am a professor of theatre at Dean College where I direct a few times each year and work with a wonderful team of artists.

Teaching college actors is as enriching a job as I have had to date.  The process of breaking down that which has become habit, challenges and betters me as an artist.  It makes me re-examine what is important to deliver convincing, heartfelt performances.

The symbiotic relationship a hyhenated artist experiences is profound.  Each art informs and enriches the next.  My directing makes me a better writer, writing a better actor and acting a better director.  And the hope is that all these make me a better educator and mentor.
